JIANGSU: The 8th Malaysia-China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC 2018) organised by the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) will be held in Nanjing on 19 September 2018.
The MCCC formed a delegation to visit the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu for a tripartite meeting with the Department of Commerce of Jiangsu and the Nanjing Bureau of Commerce. The meeting went well and detailed were discussed.
The organiser in China is inviting a Jiangsu entrepreneur—who has resided and invested in Malaysia—to be the keynote speaker.
The MCEC 2018 aims to attract a total of 400 Malaysia and China entrepreneurs. After the conference, the Malaysian participants will have the options to visit one of the three cities—Suzhou, Wuxi and Taizhou. These three major cities have their own characteristics and can cater to participants with different interest and needs.
In terms of industry positioning, Suzhou focuses on innovation and technology. Its development priorities are in industries such as biomedicine, nanotechnology, and artificial intelligence.
As for Wuxi, it focuses on Internet of Things (IoT) and smart cities. It will enable participants to experience new trends, new technologies, and new applications such as IoT communications and platforms, intelligent manufacturing and sensors, smart transportation and vehicle networking, and smart living.
As for Taizhou, it focuses on pharmaceutical manufacturing and food processing. It actively imports high-end medical resources, and strives to create specialists, ecological recuperations, high-end pensions, rehabilitation and healthcare, traditional Chinese medicine, education and training, and tourism experience.
For the MCEC 2018, there will be opening ceremony and themed seminars in the morning. In the afternoon, there will be four forums which will be held concurrently in the industries of advanced manufacturing (new energy automotive industry), biomedical industry (biotechnology and new pharmaceutical industry), agriculture and food industry (modern agriculture and halal food) and modern education and service industry (vocational education and medical tourism). MCCC plans to have two speakers—from Malaysia and China—for each forum to guide the participants in creating new business opportunity.
At present, the Department of Commerce of Fujian has confirmed that it will form a delegation to participate in the MCEC 2018. It will invite more government and business organisations from all provinces in China to participate in this event.
The MCEC 2018 emphasises on quality by having only 200 Malaysian entrepreneurs to participate in the conference. The main highlight is the business matching session. This will allow Malaysian entrepreneurs to look for business opportunities directly with the Nanjing entrepreneurs.
MCCC organised the conference in 2014 and 2016 in Xiamen and Chengdu respectively. These two editions were very successful. Therefore, MCCC is going to hold the conference overseas again this year.
