BEIJING: China and Malaysia enjoy friendly relations and there will be more room for co-operation between the two countries in the future.

The Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Overseas Exchange Association, Tan Tianxing, stressed the above when the Youth Wing of MCCC, Youth of Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia and Youth of Council of National Clan-based Youth Federation of Malaysia paid a courtesy visit to Tan’s office.

At the exchange meeting, Tan affirmed positively that Malaysian Chinese society has always passed on the Chinese culture and believed that young people are the backbone of the country’s future.

“Young talents are the future and hope for the development of a country,” Tan added.

Tan also said that this year marks the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and open door policy. The overseas Chinese must seize new opportunities and achieve greater results through this open door policy.

MCEC 2018

Chairman of the MCCC Youth Wing, Bryan Chong, revealed that the Malaysia-China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC 2018) will be held in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province in September this year. It will focus on attracting companies and entrepreneurs from various fields to find the ideal partnership. At the same time, Bryan used this opportunity to invite the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office to bring its delegation to participate in the MCEC 2018.

Chairman of the Council of National Clan-based Youth Federation of Malaysia, Wolrence Siew, mentioned at the meeting that this was the first time that they had organised a delegation to visit Beijing, the capital of China, hoping to learn about China’s development and bring relevant information back to Malaysia.

Youth Chief of Federation of Chinese Association Malaysia, Dato’ Ong Chong Keng, said that Malaysian Chinese have taken root overseas and will continue to work hard to get more Malaysian youth to understand China, especially the Belt and Road initiative to promote the friendly exchanges between the youth of the two countries. In addition, the tripartite parties plan to form a delegation of about 100 young entrepreneurs to China for trade mission.

On the same day, the tripartite parties also visited the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese. The Vice Chairman, Li Zhuobin praised the Malaysian culture and cuisine.

“China has become Malaysia’s largest trading partner and exporter for nine consecutive years, and 70% of overseas Chinese have invested in China,” Li said.

Before this, the tripartite parties have visited the All-China Federation of Industry & Commerce. The representatives from Malaysia and China made in-depth exchanges on various topics such as trade and logistics, to enhance the possibility of collaboration in the future.
