Kuala Lumpur – Jiangsu Province, Taizhou City is committed in building China’s leading, world-renowned biomedical and high-performance medical device industry by actively looking for Malaysia’s high-end medical devices to be brought to Taizhou City.

At the same time, Taizhou City also explores business matching opportunities with a few industries in Malaysia: furniture, timber, food, new energy and shipbuilding to fulfill the Belt and Road initiative in establishing sustainable cooperation.

Vice Mayor of Taizhou City, Yang Jie led a five-member delegation to visit the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) and received by the first vice president of the MCCC, Loo Kok Seong.

Yang Jie stressed that Taizhou City has built more than 50 research centers, focusing on building the pharmaceutical industry.

“We want to bring in Malaysia high-end medical equipment to Taizhou,” Yang said.

Yang also invited Malaysian entrepreneurs to participate in the China (Taizhou) International Medicine Expo to explore the city’s investment potential.

In addition, Yang pointed out that Taizhou large shipbuilding industry accounted for 18% of the country and 7% of the world, showing the vigorous development of the shipbuilding industry and can work closely with the Malaysian maritime industry as a logistics hub.

“We are also very pleased to bring in Malaysia’s advanced technology of the food industry. In the future, we also hope to establish cooperation in industries like new energy, electric vehicles, solar power, and power station construction. We also know that Malaysian furniture export is famous in the world market, and we hope that there will be room for collaboration in the furniture and wood industry,” Yang added.

“Malaysian food has Southeast Asian characteristics, coupled with the Halal certification, will be able to collaborate with the China food processing industry,” Loo Kok Seong said optimistically.

“The MCCC is actively preparing for the annual event to be held on 25th November – 7th Malaysia-China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC) – and the publication of Malaysia-China Trade and Investment Guide,” Loo added.

Data shows that Taizhou is located in central Jiangsu, north shore of the Yangtze River, at the coastal economic zone and along the Yangtze River Delta Economic Zone Interchange.
