Mayor of Liyang City, Xu Huaqin led a delegation of eight people to visit the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) and received by the first vice president of the MCCC, Loo Kok Seong.

“Since the Qin Dynasty, Liyang is a city with 2200 years of history. This city is known as the ‘World’s Longevity Town’. It is also known for its national 5A-class Tianmu Lake. Health and longevity is our culture; therefore, this city is the ideal place for the elderly,” Xu Huaqin introduced.

“The MCCC is actively preparing for the annual event to be held on 25th November – 7th Malaysia-China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC) – and the publication of Malaysia-China Trade and Investment Guide,” Loo added.

At the same time, Loo also invited the mayor to participate in the 7th Malaysia-China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC), and received a positive response.

It is worth mentioning that, Liyang City officially started the construction of the Danjin Licao River in December 2013. The river is straight, wide, and smooth. The ship navigable tonnage has increased from 300 tons to 1000 tons.

Danjin Licao River connects to Sunan Canal and the Wu Shen line. Lake Taihu in the western region is the main waterway, and also is an important part of the Yangtze River Delta region high-level waterway network ‘two vertical and six horizontal’ and Jiangsu Province network ‘two vertical and four Horizontal’. The north waterway begins from the north of Danyang Bridge, then connects to the Danyang Grand Canal and Yangtze River. The south waterway connects Wu Shen (Anhui Wuhu-Shanghai) and links with Anhui. The length of Danjin Li Cao River is 15.266 kilometers. The design follows the Level III waterway standard.

Data shows that Liyang City is rich in products and is known as the ‘Land of Fish and Rice’, ‘Home of Silk’, and ‘Land of Tea’.
