Mr. Shawn Sim , Director of China and Northeast Asia Section, MATRADE visited the MCCC today and was hosted by Mr. Kevin Siah, MCCC Vice President, for a discussion and exchange of views on strengthening economic and trade opportunities between Malaysia and the China and Northeast Asia markets.

Mr. Shawn Sim said that there will be three main events at Matrade next year: China-ASEAN Expo, China International Import Expo and the China-South Asia Expo. He encouraged MCCC member’s companies to participate in the expo, not only in the food industry, but also in other sectors such as the service industry and the electronics and electrical industry.

Mr. Kevin Siah, said that the mission of the MCCC is to promote and market the products of local enterprises abroad, especially in China. He hoped that Matrade would provide more support, assistance and cooperation in this regard.

Also present at the meeting were Ting Young Kang, Chairman of Commerce Committee, Sean Lee, Chairman of Business Economics and Investment Committee, Koh Keng Kok, Chairman of Trade Fair and Business Development Committee; Mdm Animawati Saleh, Senior Manager of China and Northeast Asia Section, Matrade, Ms Hon Jia Xin, Assistant Manager of China and Northeast Asia Section, Matrade.
