On the afternoon of December 16, the “Great Partner Shandong” 2026 Qingdao Multinationals Summit Roadshow (Southeast Asia) was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The event aimed to promote in Southeast Asia the upcoming 7th Qingdao Multinationals Summit to be held next year, as well as the related arrangements for the Conference of Great Business Partners to build the investment promotion brand and it successfully attracted more than 100 participants, including over 60 Malaysian business associations and enterprises.

Speeches were delivered on site by YB Teresa Kok, Member of Parliament for Seputeh, Kuala Lumpur and former Minister of Primary Industries of Malaysia, Liu Runjie, President of the Malaysian National Science Association; and representatives from the China Entrepreneurs Association in Malaysia, the Malaysia–China Chamber of Commerce, and the Sime Darby Group. Zhao Xiangdong, Counsellor for Science and Technology at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Malaysia, Tan Sri Gan Tian Long, Executive Chairman of Malaysia Tianlong International Group; and representatives from business associations and multinational corporations such as the Federation of Malaysia Chinese Commerce Associations and the Qilu Chamber of Commerce in Malaysia also attended the event.

Participants from various sectors in Malaysia agreed that the friendly relationship between Shandong and Malaysia boast a long and enduring history. They expressed their willingness to use major international platforms such as the Qingdao Multinationals Summit and Conference of Great Business Partners as bridges to continuously deepen pragmatic engagement with Shandong Province, share new opportunities for high-quality development during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, and inject fresh momentum into Shandong–Malaysia economic and trade cooperation. At the event, the Shandong Multinationals Research Center, Bureau of Commerce of Qingdao and China National Heavy Duty Truck Group (Sinotruk) gave thematic presentations on the arrangements for the 2026 summit and the Conference of Great Business Partners, Qingdao’s city profile, and Sinotruk’s development in Malaysia respectively.

As an important part of the global promotion of the 2026 summit, the event effectively enhanced the visibility of the “Great Partner Shandong” investment promotion brand, further expanded the international influence of major events such as the summit and the Conference of Great Business Partners and opened up broader space for Shandong Province to deepen regular exchanges with multinational corporations and expand multi-sector cooperation.
