BEIJING: One of China’s best E-commerce Companies, JD.com, intends to enter the Malaysian market to provide youth with entrepreneurial opportunities to further develop Malaysia’s online shopping platform.

The Vice President of JD.com, Ma Jianrong, shared the company’s history and long-term plans. Ma mentioned that JD.com would like to enter the Malaysian market.

“We are willing to have more cooperation with Malaysia, especially in the agriculture industry. We would like to bring in fresh fruits,” Ma said.

“JD.com is familiar with Southeast Asian countries. We have already started long-term cooperation with Indonesia and Thailand,” Ma added.

Ma says that people’s impression on JD.com is that it is merely an e-commerce brand, but in fact their financial industry and technology are in rapid development.

JD.com has vigorously promoted financial, unmanned convenience stores, tourism and real estate in recent years. It is obvious that JD.com is very ambitious.

However, JD.com has always been keeping a low profile. Ma emphasises that pragmatism is the foundation of the company and it needs many young talents to help the company to progress.

“We promise to cooperate with Malaysia so that young entrepreneurs in the country can have business opportunities,” Ma said.

Ma expressed his willingness to let more people know about JD.com and contact the company through the platform of the MCCC Youth Wing.

Chairman of the MCCC Youth Wing, Bryan Chong, said, “13 of us are here for the courtesy visit and our feedback is very important in attracting more Malaysians to pay attention on e-commerce.”

Chairman of the Council of National Clan-based Youth Federation of Malaysia, Wolrence Siew, believes that e-commerce has become a major business opportunity and is a good opportunity for youth to start businesses.

At present, JD.com has its own university college with e-commerce course. It may be able to introduce to Malaysia in the future.

On the same day, the MCCC Youth Wing also visited the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality.

“We place great importance to every overseas Chinese and cherish the contribution made by the Chinese community in promoting the Chinese culture. We hope to have more trade cooperation in the future,” Director of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality, Liu Chunfeng said.

Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality is preparing the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. At the same time, it is developing humanities, science and technology, and environment.
