By working together, entrepreneurs from both countries can seek more cooperation opportunities, reach more consensus on cooperation, get more cooperation results and inject momentum into bilateral economic and trade cooperation,” Zhao Ping added.
China sees Malaysia as important partners
Teh Eng Hin, MCCC Penang Branch and Leader of the delegation pointed out that under the Belt and Road Initiative, China has taken Malaysia as an important strategic partner that holds a pivotal position.
China has set up a consulate-General and Bank of China in Penang to reflect the efforts, contributions and sincerity of China in promoting the economic and trade commissions of both countries. MCCC published the Malaysia-China Trade and Investment Guide in July 2017 to help entrepreneurs in the two countries to understand the laws, incentives, financial system and investment opportunities of the two countries.
Teh said it is very timely to publish this guide book because China and Malaysian businessmen need all kinds of assistance when they invest in China and Malaysia respectively.
“The earliest proposed project in our country was the earliest gain, such as the East Coast Rail link (ECRL) by China’s manpower, material and financial support. China is the second-largest economy in the world. It enhances economic and trade cooperation between the two countries to promote more trade and economic cooperation and growth, and improve national economic development. ”
Penang is a major electronics manufacturing hub and tourist attraction. It maintains close ties with China regardless of its heritage, economy, culture and language. Penang Port is also listed as one of the member ports of the China–Malaysia Port Alliance (CMPA) and an important nodal point of the Silk Road.
Teh said that the MCCC established the Malaysia-China Economic and Trade Research Center with Malaysia’s and China’s experts and scholars to carry out researches and studies on specific topics in Malaysia and China. And will launch the China ASEAN Finance Training and Information Technology website to strengthen our service.
