KUALA LUMPUR — The annual Malaysian-China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC) is a platform to promote and strengthen the cooperation between the governments, and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) of China and Malaysia, said Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) president Tan Yew Sing.
The annual conference, organised by MCCC, will be in its seventh edition this year and will take place at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre on Nov 25.
“MCEC 2017 will focus on business matching with a special dedicated venue for each of the seven major matching industries — real estate and construction; technology; agriculture; medical and health; service industry such as education and logistic; halal products as well as manufacturing.
“Since its inauguration, MCEC has been building on the contribution of its predecessors, encapsulating positive energy and entrepreneur wisdom, while inspiring younger generations to think out of the box,” Tan added.
He said that, hopefully, this year’s organiser, MCCC Youth Council can learn from their past achievements and to surprise them with their new ideas.
The MCEC 2017 organising chairman Bryan Chong said: “This year, MCEC 2017 will focus on business matching with the aim of receiving investments from China and using local suppliers, which both countries can benefit from this mutual development opportunity.
“Business matching will also benefit local enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises, where they can come into contact with global enterprises and international business models, and help them to create a win-win business strategy.”
Chong believed that MCEC 2017 will stand out as a truly effective and productive conference that will open up new roads for entrepreneurs from Malaysia and China, by practicing togetherness and joint creation.
Currently, more than 600 local business representatives and over 250 overseas units have signed up for MCEC 2017.
The conference carries the theme of “The Road” which encompasses the three main concepts of “Road”, “Togetherness” and “Creation”.
Local business representatives could also expect to work with local development bodies such as the University of Malaya Centre of Innovation and Commercialisation (UMCIC), Malaysia Foreign Trade Development Council (Matrade), Malaysia Investment Development Authority (MIDA), and other Malaysia-China business associations, bodies and chambers of commerce.
The MCEC 2017 organising chairman called for the enterprises at home and abroad to seize this golden opportunity.
“For those who are interested in venturing into the overseas markets and to progress with the times, as well as innovative and forward-thinking businesses, MCEC 2017 is the best place for you to grasp the latest market developments and find your ideal cooperation partners, suppliers, buyers, and agents,” added Chong.
