KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Yew Sing, President of Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC), said that talents will become important human capital for future economic and trade exchanges between Malaysia and China.
Tan said that human resources or human capital is the most important tool in the knowledge-based economy.
Taking the current trend of high-tech development as an example, artificial intelligence, e-commerce and the Internet are new technologies, highlighting that talents are the most important asset for a country.
Tan added that Malaysia should learn from China because capital is not just money but also talents, network, thinking and products.
Tan emphasised the importance of accepting the change. This refers to the China government’s reform in terms of quality.
“We can see that (China) is guided by theory, ambition and excellent human resources,” Tan added.
Tan pointed out that the new era and new market emphasised by the new China leadership is not only a slogan, but is driven by innovation. This is evident from the enthusiasm of the China citizens in entrepreneurship and training of talents.
“The number of their university graduands has surpassed that of the United States and their economy has grown to a high-quality development. Now that they have seen their achievements, they also examined their own problems including acknowledging the insufficient social welfare support and unsatisfactory service-oriented government,” Tan added.
Tan said MCCC is rebranding its image by having more young members. MCCC is turning into a vibrant Chamber of Commerce that serves the future and nurtures more youths and new entrepreneurs.
MCEC 2018 is going to be held in Nanjing in September this year. Tan pointed out that many China Provincial Governments welcome Malaysian entrepreneurs to China.
Apart from the above-mentioned conference, MCCC will also hold the Malaysia International Inno-Tech Expo (MIIE) in November and co-organise the Global Outstanding Chinese Forum in Malacca in July. The Forum is expecting more than 100 entrepreneurs from other countries.
