The China-Hainan Free Trade Port-Malaysia Bilateral Cooperation Promotion Conference, held in Kuala Lumpur, took place on November 27 with grandeur. The event aimed to introduce the policy advantages and industrial opportunities of the Hainan Free Trade Port and Malaysia, deepen bilateral exchanges and cooperation, under the theme “Sharing New Opportunities of the Free Trade Port, Creating a New Future for RCEP.”

Organized by the Hainan Provincial Department of Commerce, Hainan International Economic Development Bureau, and the Malaysia Investment and Development Authority, the conference was co-sponsored by the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce, Malaysia Chinese Enterprises Association, and Malaysia Hainan Chamber of Commerce. Key participants included Liu Zhendong, Deputy Minister of the Malaysian Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry, Ouyang Yu Jing, the Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia, Lu Guoxiang, President of the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce, and other Malaysian government officials, prominent business representatives, association delegates, as well as the China (Hainan) – Malaysia Economic and Trade Delegation, totaling over 400 people.

During the conference, the Hainan International Economic Development Bureau, Hainan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, and Hainan Provincial Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television, and Sports provided specialized introductions on topics such as the policies and business environment of the Hainan Free Trade Port, high-tech industries, and the tourism industry. The Malaysia Investment and Development Authority comprehensively introduced Malaysia’s policies and investment opportunities. The conference also saw active participation and consultations from the Young Entrepreneur Committee of the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC YEC) directors and members.

At the conference, eight cooperation projects between the Hainan Free Trade Port and Malaysia were signed, covering various sectors such as agriculture, trade, education, and business services, facilitating the deepening of practical cooperation between the two regions. Participants expressed anticipation in using Hainan as a springboard to actively expand bilateral trade, investment, and project cooperation between Malaysia and China. This promotion conference brought new opportunities for the shared Free Trade Port and laid a solid foundation for collectively shaping the new future of RCEP.
