KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia\u2019s close proximity to Hainan, China, opens up an opportunity to enhance mutual understanding and collaboration, maximising the country\u2019s role as the gateway to Asean, said Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Liew Chin Tong.<\/p>

Hainan, which is an island province of China and the nation\u2019s southernmost point, is the closest location to Malaysia with less than five hours by flight. Hainan is also China\u2019s largest free trade port.<\/p>

\u201cOn the other hand, Malaysia holds a significant position within the entire Southeast Asian supply chain and can provide the necessary land, infrastructure, human resources, and policies.
