KUALA LUMPUR: YB Datuk Chua Tee Yong, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI) said that China will import goods worth USD 2 trillion from the countries and regions along the Belt and Road (China International Import Expo).<\/p>\n
The upcoming MCEC 2017 will be held on November 25th (Saturday) at the Putrajaya International Convention Center (PICC).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe uniqueness of the Malaysia-China Entrepreneur Conference 2017 (MCEC 2017) is that this Conference is about Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It will be conducted bilingually and have many business matching sessions,\u201d YB Datuk Chua commented.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s conference also lined up another two themed seminars, one of them is themed \u2018Togetherness\u2019 on the Belt and Road initiative and the other seminar for young entrepreneurs themed \u2018Creation\u2019. The \u2018Togetherness\u2019 seminar will invite business representatives from Malaysia and China to share business idea on mutual trade, mutual creation and mutual benefit while \u2018Creation\u2019 seminar as a pioneering youth forum will invite professionals and youth to share on innovation and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
MCEC 2017 business matching sessions are divided into one-to-one business matching and networking style business matching to meet the different needs of participating enterprises. The Conference focuses on 7 industries at MCEC 2017, namely real estate and construction, agriculture, science, technology, manufacturing, services, health care and Halal products.<\/p>\n
“We need the \u2018new four\u2019, namely \u2018new industries, new targets, new tools, and new thinking\u2019,\u201d MCCC President Tan Yew Sing said.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet\u2019s look at the \u2018new industries\u2019. Malaysian entrepreneurs should discover how to cooperate with China’s emerging industries and play their part in cross-border cooperation. The \u2018new targets\u2019 are non-Mandarin-speaking businessmen and local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) which have cooperation potential with the China enterprises,\u201d Tan pointed out.<\/p>\n
\u201cFrom the four ancient inventions to the \u2018new four inventions\u2019, namely mobile payment, bicycle sharing, high-speed rail and e-commerce, the four \u2018new tools\u2019 mark that China has moved from physical invention to virtual invention,\u201d Tan added.<\/p>\n
At present, China is gradually moving towards \u2018cashless society\u2019.<\/p>\n
\u201cTechnology has changed the way people travel; bicycle sharing is a typical case. China has several bike sharing companies. With Global Positioning System (GPS) and QR code, the bike sharing companies make biking easier,\u201d Tan said.<\/p>\n
In addition, China had put 2,595 high-speed trains into operation by the end of 2016, accounting for 60 percent of global high-speed trains. It had surpassed 20,000 kilometers of high-speed rail lines with a target of adding another 10,000 kilometers by 2020 and surpassing 45,000 kilometers by 2030.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are targeting 1000 Malaysian participants and 500 overseas participants for this event, mainly from China and other countries in Asia,\u201d MCEC 2017 Organizing Chairman, Bryan Chong said.<\/p>\n
\u201cOne of our confirmed participants is Yang Zhi Jiang Medical which is one of the leading manufacturers of Generic Medicine in China with the aim of expanding their business in Malaysia. Apart from that, we are pending confirmation from a few GLCs and enterprises from China who have expressed their great interest to participate in MCEC 2017, in particular joining the property and construction sector business matching,\u201d Bryan added.<\/p>\n
Bryan urged all Malaysian enterprises and young entrepreneurs to grab this opportunity, to submit early registration for MCEC 2017 as opportunities are in abundance. The seats for \u2018one-to-one\u2019 business matching are limited and thus he hoped that the interested parties can register as soon as possible to get the early-bird discount.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have tentatively decided to organize business visits to Melaka Gateway and Port Klang Free Zone,\u201d Bryan said.<\/p>\n
The upcoming MCEC 2017 is still open to public participants, to join us in building the \u2018Belt and Road\u2019, and creating new opportunities. For Malaysian participants, a full-day conference (including registration fee, one-to-one business matching + networking style business matching, and networking dinner) is RM500 before August 31, 2017; and RM700 after August 31, 2017.<\/p>\n
