The Malaysia\u2013China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) ceremoniously hosted the \u201cInauguration Ceremony of the National Council Committee, Young Entrepreneurs Committee, and Women Entrepreneurs Committee\u201d on 30 October, marking a significant milestone\u2014the Chamber\u2019s 35th anniversary. YB Anthony Loke, Minister of Transport, attended as the Guest of Honour, while the Minister-Counsellor from the Embassy of the People\u2019s Republic of China in Malaysia, His Excellency Zheng Xuefang\u00a0 was also present. Representatives from business associations and leaders from the corporate sector joined the celebration.<\/p>\n

The ceremony not only showcased MCCC\u2019s accomplishments in strengthening Malaysia\u2013China economic and trade cooperation over the past 35 years, but also signified the Chamber\u2019s new beginning toward a fresh phase and broader development trajectory.<\/p>\n

Transport Minister Anthony Loke: Continuing to Serve as a Vital Bridge for Malaysia\u2013China Economic and Trade Cooperation<\/strong><\/p>\n

In his address at the inauguration ceremony and 35th anniversary celebration of MCCC, Transport Minister Anthony Loke highlighted that the Chamber has played a key bridging role in Malaysia\u2013China economic and trade collaboration over the past 35 years. It has provided an essential platform for business missions, industry matchmaking, and information sharing, while facilitating communication between the government and the private sector.<\/p>\n

He noted that in the first four months of this year, bilateral trade between Malaysia and China reached RM161.9 billion, with China remaining Malaysia\u2019s largest trading partner for many consecutive years which demonstrating the strong foundation and huge potential of bilateral cooperation.<\/p>\n

He emphasized that as global supply chains undergo restructuring and trade barriers rise, businesses must accelerate diversification and actively seize new opportunities brought by the upgrading of the China\u2013ASEAN Free Trade Area and the emerging tripartite economic cooperation among ASEAN, China, and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The combined economic scale of the three regions exceeds USD 25 trillion, covering 2 billion people, and will enhance the regional strategic value of Malaysia\u2013China economic cooperation.<\/p>\n

He also expressed hopes that the Young Entrepreneurs Committee and the Women Entrepreneurs Committee would continue providing training and international platforms for young and women entrepreneurs, nurturing the next generation of business leaders.<\/p>\n

Minister-Counsellor of China: Malaysia\u2013China Relations Are Advancing Toward a \u201cGolden 50 Years\u201d With Tremendous Cooperation Potential<\/strong><\/p>\n

Minister-Counsellor from the Embassy of the People\u2019s Republic of China in Malaysia, His Excellency Zheng Xuefang remarked in his speech that Malaysia\u2013China relations are currently at their best in history, with both countries jointly entering a new \u201cGolden 50 Years.\u201d He stated that with the successful signing of the Protocol for Upgrading the China\u2013ASEAN Free Trade Area Version 3.0 in Kuala Lumpur, regional cooperation will reach higher levels of integration, bringing more opportunities and stability to enterprises from both countries.<\/p>\n
