KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 \u2014 Guangzhou Lingnan Commerce & Tourism Investment Group Co., Ltd. paid a courtesy visit to the Malaysia\u2013China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) on Saturday to discuss Malaysia\u2013China business and tourism cooperation, as well as multi-industry collaboration opportunities.<\/p>\n

Both parties held in-depth exchanges on potential cooperation in areas such as cultural tourism, hotels, food and beverage, commerce and trade, with the aim of exploring practical partnership opportunities.<\/p>\n

The visit was led by Li Liling, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Lingnan Commerce & Tourism Investment Group Co., Ltd., who headed a five-member delegation. The delegation was received by Loo Kok Seong, President of the Malaysia\u2013China Chamber of Commerce, who is also a Director of Pearl Holiday (M) Travel & Tour Sdn. Bhd.<\/p>\n

Other members of the Chinese delegation included Wang Yachuan, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of Guangzhou Lingnan Group Holdings Co., Ltd.; Wu Chen, President and Chairman of Guangzhou GZL International Travel Service Co., Ltd.; Zeng Wenbiao, Head of Strategy and Development Investment of Guangzhou Lingnan Group Holdings Co., Ltd.; and Zhou Pu, Deputy Director of the Investment Management Department and General Manager of Guangzhou Lingnan Capital Management Co., Ltd.<\/p>\n

Representing the Malaysia\u2013China Chamber of Commerce were Kevin T. C. Siah, Secretary-General; Jamie Tiew Yen Houng, Chairperson of the MCCC Women Entrepreneurs Committee (WEC); Jenny Liu Yuan Yuan, WEC Council Member; Ting Young Kang, Chairman of the International Commercial Committee; and Zhang Yuan Yuan, Member of the International Commercial Affairs Committee.<\/p>\n

Malaysian business representatives present at the meeting included Dato\u2019 Chin Yoke Choon, Chairman of the Board of Tunas Manja Group; Geng Zhen, Director of E Mayya Asia Sdn Bhd; and Au Hin Zhi, Legal Director of Au Electrical Sdn Bhd.<\/p>\n

Lingnan Group is a large state-owned comprehensive commercial and tourism investment enterprise in China, with business operations spanning retail, tourism, hotels, food, logistics, exhibitions and trade fairs. The Group operates nearly 1,800 subsidiaries and is supported by strong capabilities and extensive resources.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, Loo Kok Seong said the Chamber\u2019s annual flagship event, the Malaysia\u2013China Entrepreneurs Conference, will be held in Malaysia this year. In conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, the conference will focus on the theme of \u201cCultural Tourism and the Health & Wellness Industry\u201d, and Chinese enterprises are encouraged to participate.<\/p>\n

He also noted that, in conjunction with the Malaysia\u2013China diplomatic ties anniversary on May 30, Tourism Malaysia has appointed him as an advisor. This appointment reflects the Chamber\u2019s role as a key bridge in attracting high-end business travellers and promoting two-way tourism exchanges.<\/p>\n

Loo added that Tourism Malaysia plans to roll out a \u201c1,000 Mutual Visits Programme\u201d, involving 1,000 Malaysian tourists visiting China and 1,000 Chinese tourists visiting Malaysia.<\/p>\n

He said the Chamber will work closely with Tourism Malaysia by leveraging the resources of its more than 2,000 member companies, particularly those related to tourism, to jointly promote bilateral tourist exchanges.<\/p>\n

Li said Lingnan Group\u2019s visit to Kuala Lumpur aimed to connect with high-quality Malaysian partners in the cultural tourism and hotel sectors.<\/p>\n

He noted that China\u2019s cultural tourism market continues to recover, with consumption potential steadily being unlocked, while Guangzhou has a solid economic foundation. Kuala Lumpur, as Malaysia\u2019s capital, also demonstrates strong potential in aviation connectivity, hub development, cultural commerce and exhibition industries.<\/p>\n

According to Li, Lingnan Group plans to pursue cooperation in three key areas: joint cultural tourism promotion through integrated marketing channels; strengthened mutual visitor exchange through the development of cross-border themed travel products; and expanded two-way investment in sectors such as cultural tourism, food and commerce.<\/p>\n

He added that this year marks the opening year of China\u2019s 15th Five-Year Plan, and Lingnan Group hopes to further enhance cooperation with ASEAN countries to drive growth in Southeast Asia, particularly in inbound, outbound and cross-border businesses.<\/p>\n

Both parties agreed that the exchange has deepened mutual understanding and expanded the scope for future cooperation.
