SHANGHAI: The 8th Malaysia-China Entrepreneur Conference (MCEC 2018) organised by the Malaysia-China Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) in Nanjing on 19 September 2018 is endorsed by the Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai.
In addition, the MCEC 2018 is also endorsed by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Ministry of Tourism and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) and Secretariat for the Advancement of Malaysian Entrepreneurs (SAME) of the Prime Minister Office.
The First Vice President of MCCC cum Organising Chairman of the MCEC 2018 committee, Loo Kok Seong, led the organising committee to visit China.
Loo paid a courtesy visit to the Consul-General of the Consulate General of Malaysia in Shanghai, Qiu Shihao and representatives of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE).
In order to promote the Malaysia-China trade and tourism in Shanghai and Suzhou, there will be a special exhibition area during MCEC 2018. The exhibition is designed to promote the economic and trade investment opportunities and tourism in Malaysia.
“Malaysia’s geographical location and abundant natural resources are definitely a good base for business investment. Besides, with our similar culture, Malaysia is committed to attract more China tourists to come for sightseeing. The MCCC and MCEC organising committee are willing to contribute in this area,” Loo said.
The Secretary-General of MCCC, Kevin Siah, informed Qiu that the MCCC will bring 20 companies to exhibit in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai from 5-11 November in the food and agricultural products industries.
Kevin stated that this move is an active response of the MCCC and local entrepreneurs towards the Belt and Road Initiative proposed by the China President, Xi Jinping, in creating a win-win economic and trade partnership with the relevant countries, facilitating the establishment of free trade network and helping to boost regional and global economic growth.
In addition, Qiu very much look forward to the Malaysia International Inno-Tech Expo (MIIE) organised by the MCCC, which will be held from 23-25 November at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.
Qiu will assist in promoting the MIIE in Shanghai, in order to encourage and incubate the birth of China, Asia and regional startup companies in the name of innovation technology and explore new opportunities.
The MCEC 2018 emphasises on quality by having only 200 Malaysian entrepreneurs to participate in the conference. The main highlight is the business matching session. This will allow Malaysian entrepreneurs to look for business opportunities directly with the Nanjing entrepreneurs.
MCCC organised the conference in 2014 and 2016 in Xiamen and Chengdu respectively. These two editions were very successful. Therefore, MCCC is going to hold the conference overseas again this year.
Interested entrepreneurs are welcomed to call the MCCC Secretariat at 03-9223 1188 or email to mcec@mccc.my and sec@mccc.my for more information.
